Fire heavily damages triple-decker in South Providence

A fire heavily damaged the top two floors of a triple-decker in South Providence on Monday.

Firefighters were called to the home on Dexter Street at about 5 p.m. The flames were knocked down within an hour.

A neighboring home was also damaged, but investigators said they believe both houses were unoccupied.

There were no immediate reports of injuries.{}

Investigators said they are still looking for the cause of the fire.
