Police: Two found dead in murder-suicide

Police are now investigating a double shooting in Pawtucket as a murder suicide.

Pawtucket police said a Massachusetts man shot his way into an apartment, killed the resident and then shot himself.

Police said 43-year-old Robert Amado, of Carver, Massachusetts, attacked 45-year-old Timothy Robillard on Monday night.

Police said Amado tracked down his ex-girlfriend to Robillard's apartment on North Bend Street at about 10 p.m. He found the woman with Robillard and opened fire.

"He found out where she was, broke through a window, fired several shots, shooting the other male. While this was going on, the female fled," said Maj. Arthur Martins of the Pawtucket Police Department.

Police said the woman ran away and Amado fatally shot himself.

The woman is from Westport, Massachusetts. Police said she was not injured. Her name was not released.

"She fled as soon as she saw Mr. Amado coming through the window and she heard the gunshots," Martins said.

Neighbors said they heard several shots.

"Five loud bangs. Thought it was fireworks, then I heard screaming so I knew it wasn't fireworks," said neighbor Brad Scott.

"I'm a nervous wreck. You know, it's too bad. I feel bad for the family," said neighbor Mary Granieri.

Police said they're not looking for any other suspects in the case.

"We believe this is an isolated incident, an individual who acted out violently due to a relationship that ended," Martins said.

Robillard's friends said they were devastated to hear the news.

"Very nice guy, would give you the shirt off his back. Just very nice," William Wilson said.

Robillard's ex-wife told NBC 10 that he was a great father who worked in construction and loved to race his Z-28 Camaro.
