Tyler Seddon to undergo bone marrow transplant
BURRILLVILLE, R.I. —
A Burrillville boy whose fight with cancer has gotten national attention is set to undergo a bone marrow transplant.
Tyler Seddon's mom said his surgery is scheduled for June 2nd. Tyler has been battling leukemia.
You might remember that earlier this year, his mom sent out a request on social media asking for birthday messages for him.
Hundreds of police and firefighters responded from around the country.
Tyler's mom sat down with NBC 10 Thursday to talk about she feels about his upcoming surgery.
"I think we're both overwhelmed. It's a lot for him to take on. He knows he's going to be there for a long time, it's all about getting better and getting back to school and see his friends and do all the things he was doing before he got sick again."
After his transplant, Tyler could be in the hospital for up to 10 weeks.
