Murder charge filed in Auburn Mall death
AUBURN, Mass. —
A 27-year-old Worcester man pleaded not guilty Wednesday to killing a woman found bleeding and unconscious in the Auburn Mall parking lot.
Nhung Nguyen, 46, of Worcester, was found partly under a car at about 4 p.m. Tuesday. She was pronounced dead at UMass Memorial Medical Center.
Vu Van Ngo was arraigned in Central District Court on charges of murder and misleading a police investigation.
Prosecutors said Ngo often drove Nguyen to and from the Worcester Envelope Co. in Auburn where they both worked.
Assistant District Attorney Jeffrey Travers said in court it's believed Nguyen was shot, and a .22-caliber shell casing was found near her body. An autopsy is pending.
He said there was blood in Ngo's car and a .22 pistol at his home.
Ngo was ordered held without bail and returns to court March 19.
