Volunteers turn out for Day of Service and Remembrance
PAWTUCKET, R.I. —
A Pawtucket middle school got a fresh coat of paint from volunteers who teamed up in honor of the September 11th Day of Service and Remembrance that was held Friday and Saturday.
Pawtucket's Slater Middle School was full of volunteers from Rhode Island Americorps, Serve Rhode Island and Fidelity Investments who teamed to revitalize the school in honor of the day of service and remembrance. .
Hallways and whiteboards were painted, and inspirational murals were hung around the school.
The September 11th Day of Service was launched in 2002, to remember the victims of the terror attacks that took place 12 years ago.
