Rhode Island's secretary of state is reminding voters that the deadline to register to vote in the Sept. 9 primary is nearing.
Secretary of State Ralph Mollis says the deadline is Sunday, but his office in Providence will be open until early afternoon that day.
Applicants can download registration forms from the secretary of state's website. The original, signed form has to be received in person at the local board of canvassers by Sunday or be postmarked by that date.
State law requires voters register at least 30 days ahead of the primary.
