A Warwick man was charged with possession and transfer of child pornography, the Rhode Island State Police said Friday.
Ryan Godin, 21, was arraigned in District Court and released on $20,000 personal recognizance with special conditions restricting his contact with children and using the Internet. He's scheduled for a pre-trial conference on June 22.
State police said Godin was arrested as a result of an ongoing undercover investigation associated with people trading child pornography online.
Police said Godin used his laptop computer to download and transfer images of child pornography. A search warrant was executed at Godin's home, and police seized his laptop computer and cell phone.
Police said Godin faces a $5,000 fine and up to five years in prison.
