Warwick police to answer questions about homicide
WARWICK, R.I. —
The Warwick Police Department has scheduled a public meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the department's headquarters to update residents on the investigation into the death of man whose body was found inside a trash barrel at a city park.
Police said the body of 66-year-old John "Jack" Fay, of Warwick, was found May 18 at Warwick City Park.
Fay was a retired postal worker and avid runner who frequently used the park's bike path.
Police said Fay was killed on May 17 around dawn. Investigators said he was attacked violently while he was running.
Police have not mentioned any suspects in the case, but many residents have voiced their concerns over the safety of the neighborhood.
Police said they will also outline measures to improve safety in the area.
