Woman killed after being struck by car on I-95
A woman was struck and killed on Interstate 95 south near exit 6 in West Greenwich on Wednesday.
Rhode Island State Police identified the victim as 22-year-old Jennifer Lee, of East Lyme, Connecticut.
Police said she was outside of a car, standing in the high speed lane, when she was struck and killed by a Volkswagen sedan at about 11:15 p.m.
Police said Lee was in a car and may have been involved in an argument, prompting her to get out of the car.
Police said the driver who struck Lee stopped, and was emotionally upset after what happened. According to police, the driver will not face charges.
The accident remains under investigation.
