Woonsocket man arrested for shooting at car
WOONSOCKET, R.I. —
A Woonsocket man who opened fire on a vehicle Saturday morning has been arrested and is being brought up on multiple charges according to Woonsocket Police.
NBC 10 has learned that Damaso Hernandez Sr., 43, of Woonsocket, was arrested by the Woonsocket Police early Saturday morning after police responded to his residence to investigate a criminal complaint.
According to the police after they arrived at the residence they attempted to make contact with Hernandez who refused to leave the residence, and attempted to slam the door on them; police were able to stop the door and once they were able to subdue the suspect take him into custody.
While police were searching the residence they located a shotgun, a 9mm Ruger handgun, and an AR- 15 rifle, all of which were loaded. Police tell NBC 410 that those weapons have been seized as part of the investigation along with a musket style gun, a sword, pellet gun, and buck knife.
Hernandez has been charged with two counts of domestic felony assault with a weapon, firing a weapon in a compact area, resisting arrest, and obstruction of justice.
