Fox gets extension for ethics filing amid probe
Former House Speaker Gordon Fox has received an extension to file his annual financial disclosure to the Rhode Island Ethics Commission amid a federal probe that prompted raids on his home and Statehouse office.
Friday is the deadline for officials to file the form.
Staff Attorney Jason Gramitt says Fox called the office Friday and received a 60-day extension to file his 2013 financial disclosure statement, which is allowed by law.
The statements require officials to list their employers, real estate interests and other information. Fox paid a $1,500 ethics fine earlier this year for failing to report he received income from a government agency.
Authorities have not said what they're investigating or what prompted the raids by the FBI, IRS and state police last month. Fox resigned as speaker.
