Back To School: Teachers and social media rules
East Greenwich, R.I. —
Wrapping up our back to school series this morning, social media.
It's a part of daily life for many kids and teens.
And now teachers are finding ways to use the technology, too.
Katie Davis shows us how one educator hopes to teach life lessons at the same time.
When he's not coaching tennis at East Greenwich High School, Marc Brocato is a veteran English teacher introducing teens to everything from Shakespeare to poetry.
Brocato uses social media to engage students and prepare them for the real world at the same time.
Brocato tweets questions about Shakespeare's plays or asks students to tweet poetry in 140 characters or less.
Students aren't required to respond.
But they can earn participation credit if they do.
