Attleboro Firefighter dies after suffering heart attack on duty
The Attleboro Fire Department is mourning the loss of one of their own.
Firefighter Albert Cannon, 63, died Monday after going into cardiac arrest while on duty Sunday.
His fellow firefighters were able to revive him and get him to a hospital, however Cannon died the next day.
Cannon was in the department for 30 years and leaves behind his wife and three sons announced Chief Scott T. Lachance.
"I am very saddened at the news of Thomas Cannon's line of duty death. He served our department with distinction and pride for over 30 years," Chief Lachance said. "On behalf of the entire Attleboro Fire Department I want to extend our love and prayers to his family and loved ones, " said the chief in a statement.
Cannon was performing truck and equipment checks when he suffered his medical issue.
Funeral arrangements will be announced.
