Police are asking the public to help them identify a man caught peering into a home in Barrington.

The Barrington Police Department told NBC 10 News on Friday that the incident occurred on Aug. 6 at a house on Deep Meadow Road, also noting that something similar took place earlier this week at a separate address.

A day prior, police posted surveillance video of the incident on social media.

The video, which is about a minute-and-a-half in duration, shows the man casually walk up to the house before he peaks inside the home.

At one point, it looks as if he tries to fiddle with the camera and might even try to get in the house.

After about a minute, he walks away from the house and across the lawn until he is no longer seen on camera.

The man is white, appears to be middle aged. He was wearing a white T-shirt and khaki shorts.

In the other incident, a woman living on Lamson Road told authorities that a man showed up at her door, saying he was with Cox Cable. She thought he was suspicious and didn’t let him in.

During an investigation, police said they saw an actual Cox Cable worker next door. They spoke with him and he said he had not been to the other house and no one else had been working with him at the time.

While police showed the woman the surveillance video, she said she believed it wasn’t the man who approached the house on Deep Meadow Road.
