Deli at Warwick Stop & Shop closed after potential Listeria exposure
WARWICK, R.I. (WJAR) —
The deli area at the Stop & Shop on Quaker Lane in Warwick has been closed after concerns that the meat and cheese sold at the deli may have been exposed to Listeria.
A spokesperson for the store says they recently discovered that the meats and cheese sold at the location between January 18 and February 2 may have been exposed to the bacteria.
They tell NBC10 that there have been no confirmed illnesses but they temporarily closed the deli out of an abundance of caution. They hope to reopen the area soon.
Stop & Shop says they apologize to our customers for any inconvenience this may cause and that customers have any questions, they are encouraged to speak to our Warwick store management team.
