A Fall River special education teacher has been arrested and charged with possession of child pornography.

Henry Tedeschi, 54, left Warwick's Kent County Court in silence before getting into a taxi after his arraignment Thursday morning.

Police said he admitted that he looked at child porn as recently as Wednesday night.

“At this time, there is no evidence of any inappropriate contact between Tedeschi and any of his current or former students,” police noted in a press release.

Rhode Island State Police said they were alerted to Tedeschi’s e-mail account by the Internet provider.

After executing a search warrant, authorities seized electronic devices and arrested him at his home on Bratt Lane in West Warwick.

Tedeschi has been a teacher in various school districts in Massachusetts and Rhode Island for more than 30 years. He is currently on administrative leave from his job at Morton Middle School in Fall River.

Tedesci, who was released on $15,000 personal recognizance, was ordered not to have any contact with minors or use the Internet.

Authorities noted that additional charges might be pending.
