Flames tear through East Greenwich home

A fire broke out at an East Greenwich home Wednesday night.

Flames erupted from a house on Reynolds Avenue.

NBC 10 News arrived at the scene just before 9 p.m. to see thick, black smoke pouring from the home.

While a firefighter was held overnight at Kent Hospital for chest pains, he is expected to be OK. No one else was hurt.

According to authorities, the home is structurally unsound, so investigators were unable to immediately determine the cause.

The fire remains under investigation.
