The Flash Flood Watch continues for:

* Portions of Massachusetts and Rhode Island, including the following areas, in Massachusetts, Barnstable, Bristol, Essex,

Middlesex, Norfolk, Plymouth, Suffolk, and Worcester. In Rhode Island, Bristol, Kent, Newport, Providence, and Washington.

* From Wednesday morning through late Wednesday night * Periods of showers and embedded thunderstorms are expected

Wednesday into Wednesday night with pockets of localized torrential rainfall. Hourly rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches

per hour will be possible with the strongest storms, which may lead to localized flash flooding if storms train over the same


* The main concern at this time if for mainly urban type flash flooding Wednesday into Wednesday night.


A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
