Stray kitten that bit, scratched 4 people tests positive for rabies
A stray kitten that bit and scratched four people has tested positive for rabies, according to authorities.
Police on Friday told NBC 10 News that the people who were injured found the kitten a day prior near on Balcom Road in Foster.
While they thought the kitten was behaving strange, they still tried to pick it up to help it and take it to a nearby pound.
“During the capture, all four individuals were bitten and/or scratched,” police said. “The Rhode Island Department of Health and the Foster Police Department request residents in the area to monitor their pets and do not attempt to pick up any stray animals.”
