Longtime RI radio personality Jimmy Gray has died
Jimmy Gray, a familiar voice on the Rhode Island radio dial for many years, has passed away.
Born James Hargraves in New Bedford, he entertained audiences on WPRO, WPRO-FM, WCTK, and WHJJ.
Gray was inducted in 2009 into the Rhode Island Radio Hall of Fame, which said his "quick wit and smooth delivery made him a favorite for listeners, and advertisers."
His obituary says he enjoyed traveling, dining out and music.
Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Friday at the Perry-McStay Funeral Home at 2555 Pawtucket Ave. in East Providence. Calling hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
Gray was 72 years old.
