Loud noises in West Warwick caused by F-16 fighter jets
Two F-16 fighter jets that were seen flying in West Warwick caused a bit of a stir in the city Friday night.
Multiple NBC 10 News viewers contacted the station around 9:30 p.m., saying that they saw “abnormally low-flying aircraft in the Kent County area.”
NBC 10 contacted police, who said airport officials told them two F-16 fighter jets were headed to the air field in Quonset.
Viewers continued to call the newsroom, saying they were still hearing the noise around 10:15 p.m.
While a few said the sound initially alarmed them, they were relieved to learn the news.
