A woman’s estranged husband has been accused of killing her.

Bosco Tukamuhabwa was charged in the death of Manirino Nkinamubanzi.

Nkinamubanzi was found dead in her apartment on Ontario Street in Providence Friday.

According to friends, her body found in a plastic bag under some laundry in her room.

Nkinamubanzi had recently separated from Tukamuhabwa and she had a restraining order against him.

Her loved ones told NBC 10 News they are devastated.

"She was my best friend, my best friend," Joel Gemani said of Nkinamubanzi.

The two are both originally from Congo and Gemani said she considered Nkinamubanzi like a mother.

"I feel sad, very sad because she was my everything, because when I first came here I didn't have family here," said Gemani who worked with Nkinamubanzi at Tom’s Bao Bao in Providence.

In fact, the store manager said Nkinamubanzi, who had worked at the restaurant for the last five months, was like a mother figure to all her co-workers.

"Being a refugee, just being new to this country, she wanted to learn. She wanted to know and progress and do well for herself and for her children," said Shanice Fountain.

Her friends and co-workers are trying to distribute posters and collection jars to city businesses in hopes of raising money for her children, including a 20-year-old daughter and three sons ages 7, 9 and 16. There is also an online fundraiser for the family.

"I just hold them dear to my heart. I want them to know they have people behind them, people supporting them," said Fountain.
