Man shot by police on I-95 died of neck wound
The Rhode Island medical examiner said Wednesday that the man who was shot and killed by police on Interstate 95 died of a gunshot wound to the neck.
Local and state police fired more than 40 times at Joseph Santos at the end of a high-speed pursuit Thursday in Providence.
Police said Santos led officers on a chase on Route 10 to an on-ramp to I-95, where he became stuck in traffic.
Police said they fired on Santos when he started ramming his pickup truck into other cars.
A woman in the truck, Christine Demers, was wounded.
