Nine people left homeless in Providence fire
Nine people were left homeless, after a two-alarm fire damaged a multi-family home in Providence late Saturday night.
The fire on Mitchell Street was tough to fight, according to Acting Battalion Chief Joseph Jannitto, because it was spread onto two different floors.
Flames were showing on the front of the building when first crews arrived.
Because of the closeness to adjacent properties, Providence sent out 20 companies to help douse the fire.
It took about 50 minutes to bring the fire under control.
There were no reports of injuries.
