Norwegian Air Shuttle, a newcomer to T.F. Green Airport, announced Wednesday that it is launching service to the French Caribbean.

The airline will offer twice-weekly nonstop flights to Guadeloupe and Martinique beginning in October. Fares start at $79 one way.

"This is Norwegian's third announcement for new service at T.F Green Airport in just a few months. Norwegian is now the largest international airline at Providence offering eight nonstop destinations, which mirrors the nonstop destinations offered by our largest domestic carrier," Iftikhar Ahmad, president and CEO of the Rhode Island Airport Corporation, said in a news release.

Norwegian also has direct flights from Providence to Ireland and Scotland, and Norway.
