Pedestrian injured in Cranston crash

A 21-year-old man attempting to cross Sockanosset Cross Road in Cranston was hurt when he was struck by a car Wednesday night.

The man, who is from Cranston, was walking from the library to Whole Foods Market when a person driving a Hyundai Santa Fe hit him around just after 7 p.m.

The man was taken to Rhode Island Hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

It wasn’t immediately known if the driver, who stopped at the scene, will face charges.

The crash remains under investigation.
