Police ID teen killed after being struck by car in Warwick

Police have released the name of a Warwick teen killed in a pedestrian crash Friday night.

The victim was identified as Kurtis Lee Prosser, 18, of Warwick.

Police told NBC 10 News a car stuck a Prosser as he was crossing West Shore Road around 7:15 p.m.

A portion of the street was closed as authorities worked the scene.

The teen was taken to Rhode Island Hospital where he later died.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation but police say the driver likely won't face any charges.

Police say speed and driver impairment do not appear to be factors in the crash. They say weather conditions, dark clothing and poor lighting are factors in the crash
