Police, volunteers search woods for Coventry man reported missing

Rhode Island State Police said several agencies and volunteers were searching the woods of West Greenwich on Friday for a man reported missing.

State police said 50-year-old Michael Neary of Coventry was reported missing by his wife at about 10:15 a.m. Thursday.

Authorities said officers from Coventry and West Greenwich police found Neary's car parked at the end of Burnt Sawmill Road. Those officers, state police troopers and K-9 units searched the woods with the help of environmental police.

That search went to about 7:30 p.m. Thursday and resumed at 8 a.m. Friday.

Warwick police, Exeter Fire and Rescue, and the Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency were among the groups assisting.
