RI's ABLE offers investment options for people with disabilities
CRANSTON, R.I. (WJAR) —
The Rhode Island General Treasurer's Office has launched a checking and savings account program for adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
The program is called RI's ABLE.
Th e program allows people to save, charge and pay for disability-related expenses without endangering federal benefits and eligibility status, which are both strictly monitored.
Rhode Island is one of only a few states to offer the program.
