Warwick school investigating possible fentanyl distribution
WARWICK, R.I. (AP) —
Officials at Toll Gate High School in Warwick said they're investigating the possible distribution of powerful synthetic opioid fentanyl at the school.
Principal Candace Caluori said in an email to parents on Thursday, as well as in a follow-up email that was sent on Friday, that a student might have been distributing fentanyl in the boy's bathroom on Sept. 22.
In the statement, Caluori said that officials are "actively investigating the situation."
Officials said they have not yet verified whether fentanyl was being distributed at the school, but wanted to inform parents out of an abundance of caution.
