State Police arrest man with over $400K in marijuana, hash oil during traffic stop
A California man was arrested Friday after Rhode Island State Police found over $400,000 worth of marijuana and hash oil during a traffic stop.
State police say 29-year-old Jiacheng Liu, of San Francisco, was pulled over in his minivan for speeding on I-95, near the intersection of I-295 in Warwick.
During a search of the van, troopers found nearly 185 pounds of vacuum-sealed bags of marijuana worth an estimated $368,800. They also seized two additional boxes and a bag containing more than 800 vials of hash oil. That is valued at around $40,000.
Liu is charged with two counts of Delivery/Possession with Intent to Deliver and Manufacture a Controlled Substance and two counts of Manufacture/Possession/Delivery of Greater Than Five Kilograms of Marijuana.
He was ordered held without bail at the ACI pending a formal arraignment Monday.
