Taunton man arrested on drug trafficking charges
A 45-year-old Taunton man is facing drug trafficking charges, according to authorities.
The Middleborough Police Department said John Jones had at least five different types of narcotics in his possession when they arrested him Friday.
“MPD Detectives went Black Friday shopping today -- they grabbed some Fentanyl, Cocaine, Percocet, Xanax, Ecstasy, numerous other illegal prescriptions, and cash,” police noted on Facebook, adding that the best “deal” of the night was tracking down Jones.
Jones was apprehended on the following charges:
- Trafficking in fentanyl
- Trafficking in cocaine
- Possession with intent to distribute ecstasy, Percocet, Xanax, and several other illegal prescription pills
“Needless to say, Mr. Jones was not offering any discounts this Black Friday when the detectives went shopping at the Fairfield Inn where he had set up shop,” police wrote.
Jones, who was held on an outstanding warrant, will be arraigned on Monday.
