A tractor-trailer fire on Interstate 95 north near the Attleboro-North Attleborough line brought the Friday morning commute to a near standstill.

The truck apparently hit a guardrail at about 4:45 a.m. and caught fire. The driver was not hurt, and no other vehicles were involved.

The northbound side of the highway was closed for about 45 minutes. The crash also closed the ramp from Interstate 295 north to I-95 north.

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation said the highway needed to be repaved after the truck was removed.

That work has been completed, and all northbound lanes were open for the evening commute.

The truck was carrying apples.
