15 people displaced, 3 firefighters hurt in Providence triple-decker fire

A fire at a Providence triple-decker home displaced 15 people, as well as injured three firefighters, Friday afternoon.

Flames broke out on 387 Prairie Ave. at about 1:30 p.m.

One person, who was inside the house, was transported to a local hospital for chest pains.

While two firefighters were treated for heat exhaustion, the other was hurt when he fell in debris.

Meanwhile, flames damaged the second and third floors of the house.

As a result, five families have been displaced, with Red Cross assisting them.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
