Two men are facing charges after opening fire on board the Block Island Ferry.

It happened on the way to New London, Connecticut Wednesday.

Police say Michael Richard of South Carolina and Michael McMahon of Hamden, Connecticut were intoxicated and shot a bullet from the ferry's stern.

Richard was charged with Carrying a Firearm Under the Influence, Carrying a Firearm with out a Permit, Unlawful Discharge of Firearm, Reckless Endangerment in the First Degree, and Breach of Peace.

McMahon was charged with Breach of Peace and Carrying a Firearm Under the Influence.

The United States Coast Guard assisted during the incident.

A Glock 43 nine millimeter handgun was seized during the incident. No injuries or damage reported during the incident.

Both individuals bonded out at $10,000 apiece and are to appear in court on September 6th.
