Gov. Gina Raimondo urged Rhode Island residents to "Please, stay off the roads" during a briefing Tuesday morning from Emergency Management headquarters in Cranston.

The third nor'easter in less than 10 days was forecast to dump 10 to 18 inches of snow across Southern New England.

The governor said the decision to ban tractor-trailers from the state's highways until 4 p.m. was working. State police reported minor accidents with no injuries.

She also urged Rhode Islanders to check on neighbors and the elderly.
