Warwick home store moving out; future unclear

At Home leaving Warwick location amid Home Depot dispute (WJAR)

NBC 10 News has confirmed that retail store At Home is moving out of its current location along Bald Hill Road in Warwick.

It is not clear when the move is planned, or if the store will re-open in another location.

The owner of the property, which used to house a Sam's Club, said it had been notified that At Home was vacating the space, and that the building will be available for sale or lease in August 2019.

The news comes after Home Depot and At Home settled a lawsuit over certain items sold at both stores- a long list of goods, ranging from flower pots to furniture and rugs.

A judge granted Home Depot a restraining order in July, barring At Home from selling those items.

Home Depot has a lease agreement dating back to 1991 that grants it exclusive rights to sell those products at its site, nearly adjacent to the At Home property.

Regarding the settlement, At Home spokesperson Carey Martin said, “We have settled our differences with Home Depot in a mutually acceptable manner. Terms of the agreement have not been disclosed, however At Home looks forward to serving the Providence community for many years to come.”

At Home operates another retail location in Seekonk, Mass.
