Warwick woman killed in Smithfield crash identified

A 30-year-old woman who was killed in a Smithfield crash has been identified.

Police said Kyla Vinacco was ejected from her car after it veered off the highway and flipped over Friday morning on Interstate 295.

Vinacco, who lived in Warwick and was the granddaughter of former mayor Charles J. Donovan, died at Rhode Island Hospital.

She was engaged to Kyle R. Poland, according to an obituary posted by The Quinn Funeral Home.

The obituary also noted that Vinacco earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications from the University of Rhode Island and worked as a customer service manager for a Smithfield company.

“Kyla loved her dog Sophie, traveling, shopping, and was able to find four-leaf clovers wherever she went,” according to the obituary. “She enjoyed life and lived every day to the fullest. She was beautiful, thoughtful, funny and lit up any room she entered. She will be missed by many and will be carried in our hearts forever.”

Visiting hours for Vinacco will be held Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at The Quinn Funeral Home in Warwick. Her funeral mass is set for Thursday morning at SS. Rose and Clement Parish in Warwick.

Vinacco will be buried in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Providence.
