East Greenwich town manager leaves post
EAST GREENWICH, R.I. (WJAR) —
East Greenwich Town Manager Thomas Coyle announced he is leaving town government, officials said Monday.
The town attorney said Coyle's departure is a "separation" not a termination or a resignation.
Coyle has served East Greenwich for 30 years, including time as the police chief. He became town manager in 2013.
Financial adviser Gayle Corrigan was named acting town manager.
The NBC 10 I-Team reported extensively on Corrigan's past as chief of staff in Central Falls during the city's bankruptcy.
Some questioned whether she should have been running the city, NBC 10 News reported in 2012 that she was fired from her job as chief financial officer at Senesco Marine when the company learned she was profiting from a labor scheme.
