Cumberland American eliminated after losing to Maine in must-win game
After spending three straight summers in Williamsport, the winning streak for Cumberland American came to an end Tuesday night when they lost an elimination game to Maine 3-2 during the Little League New England Regional Tournament in Bristol, Connecticut.
Cumberland jumped out to an early 2-0 lead thanks to a Jack LaRose double that drove in two runs.
But Maine scored three unanswered runs, ending the season for Cumberland.
Holden, Massachusetts, was also eliminated from the New England Regional after losing to Vermont, 7-5.
