The Boston Red Sox spring training equipment truck made a stop at McCoy Stadium on Monday.

"Truck day" marks the beginning of the truck's 1,500-mile journey from Boston to Florida for spring training.

It's been a Red Sox tradition since 2003.

The Pawtucket Red Sox invited fans of all ages to McCoy at 1 p.m. to take pictures with the truck and meet mascots Paws and Sox. The team also debuted 75th anniversary McCoy Stadium apparel.

The truck left Pawtucket at about 1:45 p.m. It was carrying about 20,400 baseballs; 1,100 bats; 200 pairs of batting gloves and helmets; 300 pairs of pants; and 60 cases of sunflower seeds.

The truck's ultimate destination is JetBlue Park in Fort Myers, where Boston Red Sox pitchers and catchers report Feb. 13.
