Patriots Planes: New England becomes 1st NFL team to have own planes
The New England Patriots are making headlines off the field -- and on the tarmac -- for Robert Kraft's latest purchase, as the Pats just became the first NFL team to own private planes.
ESPN reported Tuesday that Kraft bought two 767 Boeing wide-body jets for his Super Bowl champions to fly on.
“One plane will be used as the main plane for the season, while the other will be the backup, with flight operations being run out of Providence, Rhode Island,” sources told ESPN.
The team tweeted a photo of the planes Tuesday night, with the caption, "New airkrafts."
The jets each have all five Lombardi trophies, as well as the logo scrawled on the cabin in red, white and blue paint.
The planes, which have reportedly been retro-fitted with all first-class seats, will reportedly be run out of Rhode Island.
