Fifth ring added to Patriots mural
SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WJAR) —
A South Kingstown mural that received national attention before the Super Bowl was updated Wednesday.
The mural at Dennis Moffitt Painting at 1428 Kingstown Road in Wakefield depicting a hand with four Super Bowl rings was painted after the Patriots won the AFC Championship. The hand had championship rings on all but one very specific finger, as well as a shout out to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell: "This one's for you, Roger!"
Goodell has been Public Enemy No. 1 since suspending quarterback Tom Brady over "Deflategate."
The company completed the mural Wednesday, by adding the fifth ring to the hand after the Patriots's Super Bowl LI victory.
The company regularly paints murals with Red Sox, Patriots, St. Patrick’s Day and other themes.
