On the Slopes: Trew gear
Bibs or ski pants. Bibs offer more warmth because they give you an extra layer of insulation at your core. Ski pants only provide warmth up to your waist, so it's up to your jacket to keep the rest of you warm. Trew's bibs for men and women offer some of the most functional and comfortable bibs out there for any type of weather and terrain. Chris Pew is the CEO of Trew and we spoke to him about Trew’s bibs for men and women.
"We wanted to make the everyman bib. Something you could wear at the resort and touring and climbing. The benefits of the bib, that we love, is the comfort. You don't have any constrictions at your waist. You can have this more loose-fitting garment with full protection from powder or sitting in the snow and it also allows you tons of venting opportunity. Kind of the cornerstone of our line because it's highly functional but it's also unique and stylish", said Pew.
The bibs feature Dermizax 3L construction for industry-benchmark breathability and signature cuffs and kick panels. Its heavy duty stretch suspender straps have slide adjustments and when put on are completely unnoticeable. The extra coverage of the bibs holds in more body heat and there's plenty of pocket space for all your needs while out and about. Chest cargo and zippered storage pockets, low profile cargo pockets and zip hand pockets.
The two, three-quarter-length side zips that run from the knee to underarm are crucial. Gone are the days when getting out of your bibs was an inconvenience. The rubber-tipped cordage zipper pulls come in handy to vent or when you're out in the back country and need a quick bathroom break.
The material is extremely durable, waterproof and breathable. There's plenty of space on the inside for layering. Enjoy the wide variety of storage space and know that your goods are safely stored in one of the storage spaces conveniently located and easy to get to.
"If you like skiing or snowboarding in deep powder, there's nothing better than a bib. Whether it's East Coast or West Coast, whether you're a weekend warrior or a ski bum. Powder is the best thing out there. That's kind of what the bib was designed for", stated Chris.
Trew has designed a comfortable bib that is true to its form and functionality. It'll keep you dry and comfortable the next time you're out in the backcountry.
