NBC 10 wins February 2015 ratings, demographics race
CRANSTON, R.I. —
NBC 10 was once again the most watched television news station in Southern New England according to the Nielsen Company's just-released February ratings data*. In all dayparts, more Southern New England homes were tuned to NBC 10 News than any other newscast in the Providence-New Bedford market.

Of the top 15 most-watched newscasts in the Providence-New Bedford market, 11 were produced by WJAR. The market's most popular newscast continues to be NBC 10 News at 6:00pm, which is seen in 64,500 households each night. A series of weekend snowstorms during the month of February helped propel Saturday and Sunday's 6:00 pm newscast ratings.

The data is generally of interest to the advertising community and the Nielsen Company breaks each half hour of television down into 25 different demographic categories, with the most coveted considered to be Adults ages 25-54.

The NBC 10 I-Team focused on abuse of power and privilege, and the waste of taxpayer money throughout the month of February. I-Team reporter Katie Davis revealed the reasons why tens of millions of dollars in court fines remains unpaid to the state of Rhode Island, in the process uncovering that the court system itself is breaking state law by failing to maintain a public list of those who are in default of their fines. I-Team reporter Parker Gavigan revealed a federal lawsuit filed by a man who claims he was abused and assaulted by police at T.F. Green Airport. After Parker's story aired, dozens of viewers reached out to the NBC 10 I-Team to report similar experiences at the state airport. The I-Team hand-delivered those complaints to airport authorities. "In my whole career, I've never gotten this kind of response from a story," Parker said.
February was also a record month for www.turnto10.com. NBC 10's main website had 11.5 million page views and 1,010,842 unique visitors during the month, making turnto10.com to most visited television news website in the market. WJAR's Facebook page closed in 125,000 followers and the station's twitter account surpassed 37,000 followers.
