Matt Reed joined NBC 10 in February 2015.
Matt is new to Rhode Island, but not to New England. He graduated from Bishop Fenwick High School in Peabody, Massachusetts, and completed his master's degree in broadcast journalism at Boston University.
Matt previously worked at KCEN in Waco, Texas, as a reporter/producer/anchor. While in Waco he covered the Fort Hood shooting, the trial of Nidal Hassan and the West Fertilizer Co. plant explosion. Matt also reported for the 2014 Lone Star Emmy-winning KCEN news special "West Remembered."
Matt worked at WHDH in Boston as a writer while completing his master's. He also has a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Miami.
In 2012 Matt reported at the London Summer Olympics as a student correspondent for Boston's CBS affiliate WBZ, covering presidential candidate Mitt Romney's visit to London and Kayla Harrison becoming the first American man or woman to win an Olympic gold medal in judo.
Matt is excited to explore the Ocean State and eat as much seafood as he can.
