Michelle San Miguel joined NBC 10 News as a multimedia journalist in March 2016.
She joins WJAR from KRDO-TV in southern Colorado, where she was a multimedia journalist and Telemundo anchor for three years. While there, she covered hundreds of stories, including a deadly mass shooting at a Planned Parenthood clinic, Colorado's emerging marijuana industry, as well as devastating wildfires and floods.
Before moving to Colorado, Michelle spent two years in Bismarck, North Dakota, working as a reporter and weekend anchor. While there, she produced and anchored a documentary on the oil boom in western North Dakota. She also hosted a live, one-hour show that raised money for children with cerebral palsy.
Michelle was recognized by the North Dakota Broadcasters Association for best in-depth reporting on a television story for a report she did on the Missouri River flood in 2011.
A graduate of Syracuse University, Michelle double majored in broadcast journalism and international relations.
Michelle is from Miami and loves spending time with her family and friends. She's fluent in Spanish and embraces her Cuban-American roots. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, running and reading.
