Storm Team 10: Saturday brings MORE snow

**Updated 2:20PM Saturday January 7, 2017**

Here's the latest as of Saturday afternoon...all of the area remains under a Winter Storm Warning with parts of eastern Mass are now in a Blizzard Warning. Per the National Weather Service:

Most of us will see at least 7" of new snow from this storm with many areas picking up a foot or more. We are in the height of the storm now and this will continue well into the evening.

Although the accumulating snow will begin to wind down this evening, the blowing and drifting will make travel extremely difficult into early Sunday.

It's important to mention that temps will be quite cold this afternoon and through tonight, this will result in even higher liquid to snow ratios (perhaps as high as 25:1)...so 0.4" of liquid MAY produce as much as 10" of snow, 0.7" of liquid brings nearly 18" ! That is why the snow forecast has gone as high as it has now.

Highest amounts are likely across southern Plymouth County & parts of southern Bristol County Massachusetts...even the Cape, where over a foot is possible...I am also concerned about the potential for strong wind gusts across coastal areas where blizzard conditions are possible. Gusts near or slightly over 40mph are possible over SE Mass Saturday evening:

This is a significant winter storm for all of the area...stay tuned, we will keep you updated!

Thanks for reading...Mark.
