Wednesday storm may bring more rain than snow
This continues to be a VERY tricky forecast and even though many of us may see snow change to rain Wednesday evening there is still the possibility of a slight shift in the storm track which COULD mean higher snow totals for areas near metro Providence..
Rain and snow will develop Wednesday morning and increase in intensity through the afternoon .
The evening commute will be impacted by either heavy wet snow (inland) or locally heavy rain and wind along and southeast of interstate 95.
Snow amounts will highest across inland HIGH elevations. After some initial wet snow, much of the area may see the change to rain wash much of it away.
A Flood Watch is in effect for all of the area for the possibility that the rain may cause renewed river flooding as well as localized street flooding:
Finally, the wind impact is still a concern. While not as severe as the wind from last Friday's storm, gusts of 45-60mph (highest near the south and east coasts) MAY cause additional power outages.
Again, there is still the potential that this storm's track may shift a bit so please stay tuned to the latest forecasts. All of us at NBC10 will keep you updated.
Thanks for reading, Mark!
