A Providence woman was arrested in a hit-and-run crash that injured a 15-year-old girl.

Authorities said 33-year-old Ceira Santiago Guerrido surrendered to police Thursday and was charged with leaving the scene of an accident with serious bodily injury, as well as several traffic violations.

Police said Guerrido hit the teenager Wednesday morning around 9 at the intersection of Prairie Avenue and Public Street as the girl was trying to cross the street in a marked crosswalk.

Guerrido then fled the scene, and the girl was taken to Hasbro Children’s Hospital and treated for minor injuries.
